Job summary

Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. (GPHA) is seeking a Counselor III to deliver individual counseling, group work, and supportive services in our Behavioral Healthcare Division across Philadelphia locations.

The role focuses on rehabilitation of substance abuse and coordination with the GPHA/AL-ASSIST program. Requires a Master’s degree in Human Services or related field with two years in substance abuse; psychology background and counseling experience preferred; LPC or LCSW preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Human Services field or related field.
• Two (2) years’ experience in substance abuse or related field.
• Psychology and one year counseling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling and group work for patients in the GPHA Behavioral Health Program.
• Support ancillary activities and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Assist in development of mental health services and deliver direct services to patients admitted to the GPHA/AL-ASSIST program.

We are presently seeking full-time Counselor III’s, Behavioral Health Consultants and Evaluator/Urgent Care Specialists in our Behavioral Healthcare Division. The positions will perform a wide variety of tasks designed to effect the lasting rehabilitation of substance abuser. These tasks include, but are not limited to, individual counseling, group work and support of ancillary activities; Assist in the development of mental health services and for providing direct services to all patients admitted by the GPHA/AL-ASSIST Behavioral Health Care Program. Must have a Master’s degree in Human Services field or related field and two (2) years’ experience in substance abuse or related field. Psychology and one year counseling experience preferred. PREFER LPC OR LCSW.
