Job description

Shallow Water Attraction Lifeguard (Open to ages 15 & up)

This is a seasonal position at Hurricane Harbor Phoenix in Phoenix AZ. It features a competitive hourly rate of $14.70, along with perks such as:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Shallow Water Attraction Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of guests in shallow water attractions, such as slide dispatch, slide run-outs, kiddie pools, and splash zones. You will provide vigilant supervision, enforce safety rules, and respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies. Your role is critical in maintaining a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT:

1. Monitor guests in shallow water attractions to ensure compliance with safety rules and prevent accidents
2. Remain alert and focused while observing water activities to identify any potential risks or emergencies
3. Respond promptly and effectively to water rescues, providing assistance and first aid as necessary
4. Ensure safety equipment (such as life jackets and flotation devices) is in good condition and easily accessible to guests
5. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe pool area, including removing debris and checking water quality
6. Communicate effectively with team members and guests to ensure everyone’s safety
7. Educate guests on pool safety rules and proper behavior in the water
8. Complete Incident Reports And Other Required Documentation
9. Perform regular safety checks on the pool area to ensure all safety protocols are being followed
10. Work with fellow lifeguards and management to ensure the attraction is running smoothly and safely

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1. Must be at least 15 years of age or older
2. Must be reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious
3. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with guests
4. Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations
5. Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods
6. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
7. Previous lifeguard or pool experience is a plus but not required
8. Certification in CPR, First Aid, and lifeguarding (Paid Training!!)
9. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays

OTHER NOTES:

May perform other duties beyond scope of above as necessary to support the park as a whole. Reports to the Aquatics Lifeguard Supervisor.
