Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a production/operator for the automated cell to keep machining lines running and meet quality goals. You will perform tool changes, load materials, and assist with handling finished goods and raw materials, while adhering to safety and workflow procedures.

You will monitor equipment, read prints, document issues, and participate in continuous improvement efforts to ensure process conformance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Operate machinery efficiently.
• Perform machine tool offsets.
• Read and understand prints/drawings.
• Accurately read inspection equipment.
• Know how to use basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers).

Responsibilities

• Maintain production on all machinery within the automated cell to meet department performance and quality objectives.
• Perform basic tool changeovers, tool offsets, and machine maintenance.
• Chamfer and load raw material onto the bar feeders.
• Rework non-conforming product as necessary.
• Assist in packaging and handling of finished product and raw materials.
• Report to the supervisor any problems that occur within the automated cell.
• Initiate action to prevent non-conformity or costly downtime.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.
