Job summary

The Cocoon is hiring a Sexual Violence Advocate to support survivors of sexual violence through advocacy, safety planning and case management in shelter and community settings. The role centers on an empowerment framework and requires collaboration with staff to provide comprehensive support for survivors, including those affected by sexual assault, sex trafficking and related abuses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or 2 years related experience
• Bilingual preferred
• On-call during business hours (Mon-Fri 8am-4pm) with coverage for others as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide advocacy, safety planning and case management from an empowerment model for sexual violence survivors in shelter and community settings
• Collaborate with staff to support survivors of sexual violence including sexual assault, sex trafficking, sexual harassment and adults sexually abused as children
• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations as needed and support flexible evening/weekend scheduling
