Job summary

American Textile Company, Inc. is hiring a production operator to run sewing or surging machines, attach care labels, and manage pillow shells from conveyor to completion.

You will inspect materials, measure and weigh products, record shifts and quantities, and pack finished items into cartons while maintaining safety and quality standards. Shifts are 12-hour rotations (6am–6pm and 6pm–6am) with overtime paid at $30.27 per hour; temporary term with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• MUST BE ABLE TO LEARN TO OPERATE PALLET JACK and other equipment.
• MUST BE ABLE TO STAND 12 HOURS AND HANDLE up to 50 lbs.
• MUST HAVE BASIC MATH SKILLS AND ABILITY TO FOLLOW SAFETY GUIDELINES.

Job description

This is a job with American Textile Company, Inc.

Operate sewing or surging machine to sew our products. Sew accurate care labels into product. Remove filled pillow shells from conveyor belt, close the opening, and replace return pillow to conveyor belt for further processing. Guide pillows or parts under machine needles and presser feet to sew parts together. Remove holding devices and finished items from machines. Place pillow shell over stuffer, fill shell with fiber, then place pillow on conveyor for further processing. Bag pillows as they come through the conveyor. Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions. Place spools of thread, cord, or other materials on spindles, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and components.

Position items under needles, using marks on machines, clamps, templates, or cloth as guides. Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, tape, and hand tools. Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools. Carefully and safely use all company equipment and property. Report any equipment problems to immediate supervisor, or the maintenance department. Perform duties in such a way to ensure the safety of oneself and ones co-workers. Responsible for production changeover duties in between work orders.

Perform other job duties as needed or assigned by Supervisor or lead.

Job offer is temporary.

Job will be available from 10/01/2026 to 07/31/2027 Overtime will be paid according to applicable law, currently $30.27 per hour.

Employer will use a single work week as its standard for computing wages. Employees will be paid bi weekly. Employer will make all deductions required by law from employees' paychecks. Employer will pay directly to carrier for transportation to and from home country provided worker completes 50 percent of period of employment and will provide subsistence during travel. Subsistence will be paid at $16.78 per day of travel to a maximum of $68.00. per day with receipts and will be paid at statutory rate in the first workweek directly to employee.

Employer will reimburse employee under H2B program in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government incurred by the H2B worker.

Employer will provide to Employees, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. All necessary training will be provided on the job.

Shift Information: Employees will be assigned either Shift 1 (6am to 6pm) or Shift 2 (6pm to 6am) on a rotating schedule of 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off. 40+ plus hours per week, overtime will be compensated with accordance to state law, which will currently be paid at $30.27 per hour. Shift 2 will be provided shift differential for overnight.
