The Sewing Ministry Assistant will assist the Sewing Ministry Director in running and scaling Shop Refugee, a flourishing sewing business training and employing refugee women and other displaced peoples living in the Phoenix valley.

About this role

We are in need of individuals who have a passion for sewing and want to engage refugee seamstresses, students, and volunteers. GoTEN’s sewing ministry in Phoenix, AZ, creates a connection point for ministry staff, trainees, and volunteers to build meaningful friendships with refugee women and their families with the goal of sharing the hope of Jesus with them. The Sewing Ministry Assistant Director will help lead sewing classes, support markets, prepare products for sale through ShopRefugee.com, and visit seamstresses in their homes. Sewing, teaching, retail, or product-development experience would be beneficial, but a willingness to learn, serve others, and follow established ministry processes is essential.
