Job summary

Zohorecruit seeks a Sewing Machine Operator for our Dallas, TX facility. This role operates an industrial sewing machine in a production setting, attaching fabric or leather pieces and following safety guidelines. Expect ~40 hours weekly with overtime as needed.

You will perform single/double needle sewing, set up machines, read travelers, and train on new styles. Strong attention to detail and adherence to process are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret sewing diagrams.
• Ability to operate sewing machine including threading and replacing machine with thread.
• Ability to lift sewing totes up to 50lbs.
• The ability to use hand, eye and foot coordination to operate a sewing machine.
• Skill in replacing threads and bobbins on sewing machine.

Responsibilities

• Sew pre-cut fabric or leather according to sewing diagram.
• Perform single needle and top stitch sewing as required.
• Sew welt cord or tubing as required by style.
• Read traveler for correct law label, thread and zipper color.
• Use zipper machine as required by style.
• Skive the leather with the leather skiver as needed per style.
• Change needles on the machine to match the cover material.
• Adjust seam allowance according to traveler instructions on the cover material.
• Change thread and bobbins according to traveler instructions on the cover material.
• Adjust tension as needed.
• Report any problems or issues to supervisor.
• Inspect the quality of your own work.
• Train with a product development representative on new styles (Betas) and report.

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Lead and Trainer, thesewer is responsible for attaching or binding two pieces of fabric or leatherusing an industrial/commercial sewing machine. The sewer operates his/hermachine in a production environment and adheres to all established safetyguidelines. Sewers are required to work about forty hours a week and areflexible to work overtime as required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Singleand Double Needle Sewing

• Sews pre-cut fabric or leather according to sewing diagram.

• Sew welt cord or tubing as required by style.
  
• Reads traveler for correct law label, thread and zipper color.
  
• Uses zipper machine as required by style.
