Sewing Machine Operator III- ASH
Position title: Sewing Machine Operator III
Reports to: Senior Sewing Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Position summary:
Under the general supervision of the Sr. Sewing Supervisor, the employee in this position operates various types of sewing machines following all established work and safety procedures.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Perform daily equipment inspections, including verifying all safety devices are operating properly, notifying supervisor of any concerns.
- Prepare sewing machine for sewing, including threading the machine and properly inserting the bobbin.
- Operate various types of sewing machines proficiently while achieving production standards and goals.
- Visually assure product meets required specifications, notifying supervisor of any quality concerns.
- Make repairs as apparent or as assigned.
- Retrieve and/or distribute raw materials/sub-assemblies as needed to assure maximum efficiency.
- Assist visually impaired/blind co-workers as apparent or as assigned.
- Assist in training employees new to the department.
- Assist other department personnel as time and knowledge permit.
- Participate in training and meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties as apparent or as assigned.

Education and work experience:
- 2 years experience operating a sewing machine is preferred.
