Position: Sewing Machine Operator- Hoods

Shift: ***FIRST SHIFT, MONDAY - FRIDAY 7:00am - 3:30pm***

Starting Minimum Pay: $18.00 per hour

YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Herff Jones Cap and Gown team, based in Arcola IL, is looking for a Sewing Machine Operator to join our team.

HERE'S HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Proficiently operate the spreader.
• Inspect all component parts to ensure they meet our quality standards and correspond to the bundling ticket.
• Operate the automated machinery in your department.
• Understand all product lines.
• Ensure finished product meets all quality standards.
• Clean machine, change needles, thread, etc. to meet the machine’s needs.
• Join materials using multi needle sewing devices, as needed.
• Work in other departments and work areas/machinery as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

• Strong communication skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Reading, writing and math skills commensurate with job duties.
• Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions.
• Ability to recognize colors and different cloth styles.
• Ability to sit or stand for 8 hours a day or longer.
• Ability to work in an environment with repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, and elbows.
• May require lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work all mandatory overtime.
