Downers Grove Park District seeks a passionate Sewing Class Instructor to lead sewing classes for youth, teens, and adults in Downers Grove. The role is part-time and year-round, with evening classes and occasional daytime sessions during holidays or Saturdays.

All materials and machines are provided. Pay is $20.50/hour, plus a free gym membership at 4500 Fitness. Classes include basic to intermediate sewing, project creation, and a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficiency in sewing, by hand and with a machine.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with children and staff.
• First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead seasonal sewing classes for different age groups and skill levels.
• Teach basic to intermediate sewing techniques (fabric cutting, hand stitching, machine sewing).
• Guide projects such as pillows, fashion accessories, or decorative items.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure proper use of equipment.
