Job summary

Sila is seeking a Sewer Tech to inspect and document sewer lines using CCTV cameras, setting up from manholes and capturing clear video of conditions.

You will work with maintenance crews, engineers, and customers to interpret findings, prepare reports with video logs and photos, and recommend remediation. Safety protocols, PPE, traffic control, and confined-space awareness are required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of exterior sewer and water experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with CCTV/sewer inspections.
• Comfortable outdoors and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate CCTV/sewer inspection camera systems from set-up to video capture.
• Record findings with logs, photos, and condition codes.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineers, and customers.
• Adhere to safety protocols including traffic control and PPE.

Job Description

• Experience operating CCTV/sewer-inspection camera systems: setting up the camera, launching from manholes, positioning, controlling lighting, capturing video.
• Knowledge of wastewater collection systems, manholes, sewer mains, laterals, and how condition issues appear on video (e.g., cracks, root intrusion, infiltration, blockages).
• Ability to interact with other teams (maintenance/repair crews, engineers, customers/community) and provide feedback on inspection results or required remediation.
• Ability to write clear inspection reports, document findings (video logs, photographs, condition codes).
• Knowledge of safety protocols: traffic control when working on street or in roadways, personal protective equipment (PPE), OSHA or equivalent; perhaps confined-space training/certification.

Qualifications

• Service Titan Knowledge preferred.
• CDL license preferred (not required).
• Operate a skid-steer.
• Run a backhoe machine.
• 3-5 years of exterior sewer and water experience.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong customer service orientation with a high sense of urgency.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of related field experience.
  • Some exposure to plumbing, utility work, or mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in confined spaces.
