Job summary

Sewer Lining Technician at S and J Plumbing is a hands-on role focused on trenchless sewer lining, CIPP installation, and on-site problem solving. You’ll join a growing crew and contribute to a high-value service that expands the company’s in-house sewer division.

We’re seeking experienced plumbers, drain techs, or sewer pros who can work independently, follow safety protocols, and deliver five-star customer experiences on every job. A valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing, sewer, drain cleaning, or underground work.
• Experience with sewer cameras, jetting, or trenchless work preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently in the field.
• Strong work ethic and professionalism.
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus).

Responsibilities

• Install CIPP liners in residential sewer systems.
• Operate trenchless equipment (inversion drums, cutters, curing systems).
• Perform drain cleaning and pipe prep before lining installs.
• Diagnose sewer conditions and ensure proper install execution.
• Work closely with your crew to complete jobs efficiently and correctly.
• Maintain and clean equipment and trucks.
• Provide a five-star customer experience on every job.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.

What You'll Do

• Install CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) liners in residential sewer systems
• Operate trenchless equipment (inversion drums, cutters, curing systems)
• Perform drain cleaning and pipe prep before lining installs
• Diagnose sewer conditions and ensure proper install execution
• Work closely with your crew to complete jobs efficiently and correctly
• Follow all safety protocols, including confined space procedures
• Maintain and clean equipment and trucks
• Provide a five-star customer experience on every job
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times

What We're Looking For

• Experience in plumbing, sewer, drain cleaning, or underground work, REQUIRED
• Experience with sewer cameras, jetting, or trenchless work strongly preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently in the field
• Strong work ethic and professionalism
• Comfortable with physical work and outdoor conditions
• Team player with leadership potential
• Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
