Job summary

Chrome Hearts is seeking a Leather Sewer in Hollywood to contribute to the crafting of luxury leather apparel and accessories. You will prepare materials, set up sewing machines, perform quality checks, and help maintain a high standard of craftsmanship across a fast-paced production setting.

The role requires at least one year operating single-needle machines, experience with luxury leather, and the ability to learn quickly while collaborating with the team to meet design specs and production

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience operating single-needle machines in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with high-end luxury clothing, especially leather.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

As a Leather Sewer at Chrome Hearts, your role is pivotal in the crafting of our high-quality apparel and accessories, ensuring they meet our exacting standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Material Preparation: Methodically organize and sort materials to prepare them for crafting.
  • Machine Setup: Skillfully set up the sewing machine by changing needles, securing attachments, and ensuring it's in perfect working order.
  • Quality Control: Thoroughly inspect materials for any flaws or imperfections, upholding our commitment to excellence.
  • Sewing Expertise: Seamlessly stitch materials together using a variety of sewing machines, guiding the fabric with precision.
  • Machine Maintenance: Regularly monitor machine performance, detect and address malfunctions, and adjust settings as needed to maintain optimal output.
  • Hand Finishing: Employ hand‑sewing and ironing techniques when necessary to achieve the desired quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Continuously inspect the finished product to maintain the highest level of craftsmanship.
  • Equipment Care: Ensure the proper functioning of equipment by performing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, and promptly addressing any issues or repairs.
  • Material Handling: Organize and replenish spools of thread, cord, or other materials on machine spindles.
  • Versatility: Display proficiency in sewing and be open to cross‑training on other machinery to broaden your skill set.
  • Organization and Detail: Uphold a meticulous and organized work routine, paying close attention to detail.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and orderly work area, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the collective efforts of the team by assisting with related tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in operating single‑needle machines in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Luxury Clothing: Prior experience working with high‑end luxury clothing, especially with an emphasis on leather, is highly preferred.
  • Machine Proficiency: Proficient in setting up and operating sewing machines and working with various fabrics.
  • Quick Learner: Candidates should be capable of swiftly learning all job responsibilities within an appropriate time frame.
  • Team Player: Must be able to collaborate effectively with team members and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Measuring Skills: Basic skills in taking measurements for precise garment assembly.
  • Design Specifications: Ability to sew according to design specifications and follow design sheets accurately.
  • Physical Endurance: Ability to handle a physical workload and repeat various manual motions during the shift, involving the use of feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Adaptability and ability to excel in a fast‑paced work environment.
  • Responsibility and Accountability: Eagerness to take on responsibilities with a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Compliance: Perform work in accordance with applicable company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
