Job summary

The City of Reading is seeking an Equipment Operator II - Sewers in Reading, PA. This role supports underground utilities work, including excavation, inspection, and repair of sanitary and storm sewer systems, using heavy equipment and in-pipe inspection tools.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a Class B CDL with air brakes/tanker endorsement, PA DEP E-4 certification within two years, and relevant underground utility experience. NASSCO PACP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Class B CDL PA license with air brakes/tanker endorsement required.
• PA DEP Class E Collection System certification required within two years of hire.
• NASSCO PACP certification preferred.
• Two years’ experience with underground utility excavation work.
• Experience operating dump trucks, backhoes, front end loaders and tanker trucks.
• Background with CCTV inspection preferred.
• Confined Space entry and trenching/shoring background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform excavation, inspection, and repair work on sanitary and storm sewer systems.
• Operate heavy equipment including dump trucks, backhoes, loaders and tanker trucks.
• Operate in-pipe televisual inspection equipment and provide reports.
• Provide accurate daily work reports used for PA DEP reporting.
• Other duties may be assigned.
