Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Altoona, PA is seeking a Sewer B on 1st Shift to assemble fabrics, zippers, and other components into finished products. You will ensure sewn materials meet customer specifications and maintain efficiency and quality standards.

The role requires operating sewing machinery, reading a tape measure, and following sewing procedures. Prior industrial sewing experience is preferred; 401K, profit sharing, and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be able to efficiently and effectively operate sewing machinery.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers, Supervisor, and Management.
• Prior industrial sewing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and sub-components into finished products per sewing procedures.
• Attach applicable labels/tags to finished products as required.
• Check final product quality against customer specifications.
• Assist in cleaning equipment and performing basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain clean work areas and set up sewing area with supplies.
• Adhere to established department and production procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.
