Qualifications

• Experience operating excavation equipment.
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus).
• Ability to read utility locates, site layouts, and job instructions.
• Working knowledge of trench safety, shoring, and jobsite safety practices.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Ability to perform physical labor as needed.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely enter and exit excavation equipment repeatedly.
• Comfortable working in trenches, uneven terrain, and active construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and operate mini excavators, skid steers, and trenchers to expose underground lines.
• Coordinate with sewer and plumbing technicians to ensure safe, efficient repairs.
• Perform trenching, backfilling, grading, and site restoration while maintaining clean work zones.
• Follow safety protocols and read job instructions and site layouts accurately.

Experience with sewer and drain excavation, residential service, sewer cameras, and concrete restoration preferred. OSHA or safety training is a plus.

AVERAGE DAY AS A SEWER AND DRAIN EXCAVATION OPERATOR

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM.

In this role, you'll inspect equipment before heading to job sites where precision is key. You'll operate mini excavators, skid steers, and trenchers to expose underground lines, collaborating closely with sewer and plumbing technicians to ensure safe, efficient repairs. Your responsibilities will include trenching, backfilling, grading, and site restoration, ensuring each jobsite is clean and compliant while maintaining clear communication with homeowners and teammates.
