Job summary

Hope Wall School is seeking a Special Education Severe Needs Paraprofessional to assist in daily classroom activities for students with intensive needs. The role is full-time, 7 hours per day, with a schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The position begins 08/14/2024 and ends 05/30/2025, located at Hope D. Wall School. The candidate should hold an ELS – Paraprofessional License/Endorsement and be able to lift and assist students, work with a team, and support self-care activities and behavior

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and/or squat to support students with self-help and instructional activities.
• Ability to work effectively on a classroom team alongside paraprofessionals, service providers, and the teacher.
• Ability to take direction and execute tasks while also taking initiative.
• Willingness to support students with self-care tasks such as bathroom, grooming, and meals.
• Ability to provide support to a teacher managing student behaviors and social-emotional needs.

• Support classroom management and behavior strategies under supervision.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement accommodations and modifications.
