Job summary

Kiawah Island Golf Resort, on Johns Island near Charleston, SC, seeks a Server for Jasmine Porch. Under supervision of the Restaurant Manager, you’ll prepare dining rooms and assist guests, ensuring attentive service throughout their dining experience.

Position requires high school diploma or equivalent, 21+ for alcohol service, and prior serving experience. On-site shifts 5:30am-12:30pm or 7am-3:30/4pm. On-site perks include health benefits and staff programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required (college degree preferred).
• Minimum 21 years of age to mix and serve alcohol.
• Past serving experience required.
• Certification of alcohol awareness program and training in food, wine & liquor service preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Must be able to compute basic mathematical calculations.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good to excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Must pass a background check.

• Assist teammates with daily prep, table maintenance, and teamwork.

Server Jasmine Porch Non Exempt Position Summary: Under supervision of the Restaurant Manager, the Server works to prepare dining room and back of the house area for service. Servers are expected to welcome guests and attend to their every need, as well as assist in monitoring the guests' needs in all phases of their dining experience. Servers must be positive, a team player, and passionate about serving guests. The hours will be between 5:30am-12:30pm or 7am-3:30/4pm. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort's actual rate of pay for this position is $7.08 plus tips.

• Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, specials, 86'd items, liquor brands beers and non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurant.
• Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code of the restaurant.
• Must be positive, a team player, and passionate about serving guests.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as be extremely thorough.
• Responsible for daily prep work, table maintenance, assisting with teammates needs, and creating an environment of teamwork and learning to be better.
• Must possess the ability to adapt in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor with guests and teammates at all times.
• Upholds the core values and policies and procedures of the resort.
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift minimum weight of 35 lbs. across short-medium distances.
• Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift while reaching, bending and stooping as needed.
• Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
• Ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry trays / ovals.
