Zusammenfassung

Excelsior Prep Charter School in Florida is seeking an instructional leader to guide a K–12 classroom, align curriculum, instruction, and assessment to improve student achievement in a charter setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or higher, state teaching certification, and at least 2 years of K–12 teaching experience, with a Math Endorsement preferred. Responsibilities include creating a safe learning climate and using data to drive continuous improvement.

  • Develops and implements a strategic planning system including course, unit, and lesson plans.
  • Provides opportunities for students to demonstrate appropriate progress toward graduation expectations: knowledgeable, lifelong learner; responsible individual; effective communicator; problem solver; collaborative team worker, and self-directed learner.
  • Provides students and parents with timely data for improvement in student achievement.
  • Uses formal and informal assessment strategies to determine whether students have achieved high standards and modifies instructional strategies as needed to maximize achievement. Understands how students learn and provides learning opportunities that support intellectual, social, and personal development of diverse learners.
  • Establishes and maintains a safe and secure classroom environment.
  • Manages student misconduct promptly and resolves conflict and crises effectively.
  • Promotes independent and collaborative work ethic.

Description:

Instructional position responsible for the educational leadership of students in a group or class in an innovative charter school. The educational leader is expected to understand and demonstrate the use of the school's curriculum, student instruction and assessment to maximize educational achievement for all students; work collaboratively to ensure a working and learning climate for all students that is safe, secure and respectful. Implementing strategies to reach the multiple intelligences of students through creative lessons is required.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher and state teaching certification
Minimum of 2 years of previous teaching experience at the K–12 level
Math Endorsement K–12 or 6–12
Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, with the ability to closely adhere to established requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
