Shift: Sunday through Thursday | Hours: 10:30PM to 7AM | Wage: Starts at $21.70/hour + $2.00/hour shift differential

Position Summary

The Setup Technician is responsible for the safe and accurate installation and removal of molds, setup of auxiliary equipment, and support for production operations. This hands-on role also requires troubleshooting, collaboration with machine operators, and the flexibility to perform Material Handler duties when business needs arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely install and remove molds and support equipment.
• Inspect molds for damage and apply lubrication as needed.
• Clean machines and surrounding areas before beginning setup.
• Verify machine settings match the approved setup sheet.
• Start machines and auxiliary equipment to produce quality parts per the manufacturing plan and print specifications.
• Troubleshoot and adjust machines for optimal part quality and efficiency.
• Communicate with operators and provide guidance not covered in work instructions.
• Fill in as an operator during breaks or when needed.
• Complete required documentation (first/last off parts, plan sign-offs, etc.).
• Monitor production rates and part/shot weights to ensure targets are met; submit BOM change requests if needed.
• Notify supervisor of any quality issues or high scrap rates.
• Identify unsafe equipment and take corrective action, including proper lockout/tagout.
• Stay up to date with technical developments and apply new knowledge.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to operate an electric crane and RapiStack system safely.
• Ability to read blueprints and production documents.
• Experience transacting materials in IQMS or similar ERP software.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must follow instructions, methods, and safety practices consistently.
  
  

Training & Advancement Requirements

• Complete all Material Handler training, testing, and certification within 90 days.
• Complete applicable training including:
• Paulson Level 1 & 2
• CCMU-1, CCMU-2, CCMU-3
• Intro to Scientific Qualification Method & Decoupled Molding
  

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, and balance.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Noise level: Moderate to loud
