Job summary

Sonoco in Charleroi, PA is hiring a Set Up Operator to safely operate production equipment and assist in multiple manufacturing steps. You will set up machinery, inspect product quality, and help move materials through conveyors, while maintaining accurate records on production output.

The role requires reading a ruler to 1/32", basic math including fractions, and reliable attendance in a fast-paced industrial environment. A mechanical background is a plus for this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Able to read a ruler to 1/32" and perform basic arithmetic including fractions.
• Demonstrates knowledge of or ability to learn safety rules and operating procedures.
• Strong communication skills and dependability in a fast-paced facility.
• Mechanical aptitude a plus for setup and handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up machinery in the production line.
• Manually catch bundles and palletize products.
• Inspect products for quality conformance.
• Monitor equipment and report malfunctions to operators.
• Lift materials up to 30 lbs and assist with loading/unloading.
• Record production details including counts and dates.

Responsibilities include providing assistance in various areas of our manufacturing process as directed. Strive to meet plant goals and customer requirements.
