Job summary

Southwest Power Pool (SPP) invites applications for a Settlements Analyst I or II. This hybrid role is based in Little Rock, AR, combining office presence with flexible work arrangements.

You will support settlement production, validate billing data, execute settlement runs, and ensure accurate invoicing for market participants across the region.   • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience for Settlements Analyst II; Analyst I requires no experience but may be considered with two years.
  • Proficient Word, Excel and PPT.
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Knowledge of computer business applications and database management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily market and/or transmission settlement production activities.
  • Validate billing data received from source systems before settlement processing.
  • Execute settlement runs and posting activities according to established settlement calendars.
  • Review and validate daily settlement statements and reports for market participants.
  • Maintain SOC1 control documentation and key control activities.
  • Track, document, and monitor production activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain and update settlement procedures and reference documentation.
  • Research and resolve settlement discrepancies, questions, and data issues.
  • Respond to information requests and financial analysis from internal and external parties.
  • Develop understanding of the SPP Tariff and market protocols to support settlements.
  • Assist with testing and implementation of new settlement products and processes.
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve questions and improve settlement processes.
  • Support leadership with reporting, financial analysis, and special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with SPP policies and standards.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.

Settlement Analyst II Salary range: $70,320 -- $87,895

Settlement Analyst I Salary range: $57,200 -- $70,060

As a Settlements Analyst, you'll help process and validate market and transmission settlements, analyze financial data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure accurate and timely invoicing for our market participants. What You'll Do
  • Support daily market and/or transmission settlement production activities.

Education Requirements

To be successful in the role we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree
Experience Requirements
  • Settlements Analyst II: Two (2) years job related experience. Candidates with four (4) years of relevant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Settlements Analyst I: No experience required. Candidates with two (2) years of relevant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and PPT.
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus
  • Knowledge of computer business applications and data base management systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of electric utility industry
Position Type, Location, and Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas, with a minimum requirement of two days per week in the office. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours as needed.
Travel Requirement
  • This position requires minimal travel (approximately 0-15%)
