Job summary

Scott & Associates, PC in Plano, TX is seeking a Settlement Paralegal to manage the post-suit resolution workflow for a high-volume creditors' rights practice. You will negotiate repayment terms, draft settlement stipulations, and monitor payment compliance to maximize client recovery.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of paralegal experience, an associate degree or ABA-approved certificate, and strong negotiation, attention to detail, and written communication skills to support

Qualifications

• Paralegal experience in debt settlement, creditors’ rights, or financial services litigation.
• Associate degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or commensurate work experience.
• Proficiency with electronic filing systems, reconciliation tools and case management software.
• Strong negotiation, meticulous attention to detail, clear written communication, and ability to manage high-volume resolutions.

Responsibilities

• Draft settlement agreements, stipulations, payment plans, and release forms.
• Negotiate settlement terms with opposing parties and internal clients.
• Track signed settlements and agreed judgments to final resolution.
• Manage default workflows and prompt payments or judgments when needed.
• Reconcile final payoff amounts, interest, and fees with accounting.
• Prepare and file closing paperwork with state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
