Job summary

LHH partners with a California plaintiff-side employment law firm to recruit a Settlement Attorney focused on class action settlements. You will join a collaborative team of more than 25 attorneys dedicated to workplace justice matters across California.

In this role you will negotiate, draft, and manage complex settlements from negotiation through court approval and administration, working with litigators, administrators, and stakeholders to structure and implement settlements.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar admission or pending admission.
• At least 5 years of legal experience.
• Experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex legal agreements.
• Prior class actions, complex litigation, or wage-and-hour experience preferred.
• Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• JD from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and revise complex class action settlement agreements.
• Prepare notices, claim forms, and related settlement documents.
• Draft motions for preliminary and final court approval of settlements.
• Partner with litigators on strategy and implementation.

Settlement Attorney | Plaintiff-Side Employment Litigation

LHH is assisting a growing California-based plaintiff-side employment law firm in its search for a Transactional Attorney. This attorney will join a collaborative team of more than 25 attorneys dedicated to advocating for employees who have experienced workplace injustice throughout California.

This role sits within the firm's class action practice and will focus on negotiating, drafting, and managing complex class action settlement agreements from negotiation through court approval and administration. The attorney will work closely with litigators, class action administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure settlements are properly structured, approved, and implemented.

What You'll Do

As a key member of the legal team, you will:

• Negotiate, draft, review, and revise complex class action settlement agreements
• Prepare and negotiate class action notices, claim forms, and related settlement documents
• Draft and revise motions seeking preliminary and final approval of class action settlements
• Partner with litigators and firm leadership on settlement strategy and implementation
• Monitor and oversee class action administrators to ensure compliance with court orders and settlement requirements
• Coordinate with opposing counsel, courts, and third-party administrators throughout the settlement process

Candidate Requirements

• Active California Bar admission or pending admission to the California Bar
• At least 5 years of legal experience
• Experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing complex legal agreements
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and/or wage and hour litigation is strongly preferred
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Salary Range: $150,000 to $200,000 annually (DOE)
