Job description

Position: Set Up Technician

Pay: Starting $25/hour plus performance increase after probationary period.

Work Schedule: 1st shift Monday-Friday; 7am-3pm plus overtime as scheduled.

Reports to: Plant Superintendent

As a Set Up Technician, you will be joining a dynamic team at a growing manufacturing company as a very important position in our business. You will be responsible for setting up the high pressure die casting machinery, trim presses and getting it ready for production runs to produce brass and aluminum castings from molten metal. This is a hands-on, physically demanding, fast paced, and high responsibility shop floor position. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Install and remove tooling in die casting machines and trim presses
  • Configure, load and validate Automation
  • Produce good casting samples for Quality Control to approve production
  • Assist with process adjustments to maintain/improve casting quality
  • Change cores, shot rods, shot tips, punches, spray guns
  • Assist with furnace tending and metal transfers
  • Material handling and Material receiving
  • Help facilitate and support production goals throughout the shift

A successful candidate should have some prior manufacturing experience in a factory environment. Die casting or foundry experience a plus but not required. You will be standing, lifting, and working in varying temperatures. Attention to detail and working safely is very important. The candidate must be willing to learn, follow the directions of a supervisor, and work cooperatively with other team members. A positive attitude and regular and punctual attendance is required. Safety is our #1 priority.
