Job summary

The Vollrath Company in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is seeking a skilled die setter/press operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set and align dies, operate multiple presses, and perform basic die maintenance while following safety procedures.

Excellent measurement and reading of blueprints are essential, as is the ability to train others and support special projects. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a leader in metal fabrication.

Qualifications

• Experience operating dies and presses.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Set, align and secure dies, and adjust ram stroke for blanking, forming, and punching operations.
• Configure stripper, knock-out, ejecting and safety devices and lubrication systems.
• Convert multi‑purpose dies and adapt setups for special requirements.
• Perform minor die maintenance and die changes.
• Program and set up sensing, feeders, lubrication, air, ejection and sensors.
• Operate more than one press when required.
• Work from drawings and samples.
• Use precision measuring instruments for self-inspection.
• Assist supervisor with special projects.
• General cleaning and housekeeping.
• Display willingness to train others.
• Powered industrial truck operation.

• Set, align and secure dies, set ram stroke, etc., to perform such operations as blank, shear, trim, punch, form draw, extrude, etc., in progressive, compound, cam acting or combination dies of complex design.
• Set stripper, knock-out, ejecting and safety devices, lubrication systems and coil feeds.
• Convert multi-purpose dies and improvise standard set ups for special adaptations when required.
• Perform minor die maintenance and minor die changes.
• Program and/or set up required sensing, support equipment and instruments for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection and sensors.
• Ability to operate more than one press at a time when appropriate.
• Work from drawings and samples.
• Use precision measuring instruments for operator self-inspection.
• Assist the supervisor with special projects.
• General cleaning and housekeeping
• Display willingness to assist and train others when necessary.
• Powered industrial truck operation.
