Job summary

Hendrick Motorsports is seeking an entry-level yet mechanically capable team member to assist in the preparation and installation of race car setup per crew chief specifications. The role includes learning to use the Romer Arm, referencing setup sheets, and inputting data into the database.

The position emphasizes supporting experienced mechanics, verifying wheel offsets, and helping finalize vehicle setup for weekly builds. Some fabrication and personal tool ownership are expected.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of race car components.
• Must be somewhat skilled mechanically. Basic fabrication skills preferred.
• Must own and be able to utilize personal tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in verifying the wheel location and offsets to NASCAR gauges.
• Assist in the finalization and verification of the race set-up of the vehicle.
• Assist in inputting set-up information into the database.
• Begin to learn to utilize Romer Arm to confirm set-up specifications and measurements.
• Reference set-up sheet from crew chief or race engineer to confirm weekly build specifications.
• Receive direction and guidance from more experienced set-up mechanics to assist in the set-up process.
• Assist the shop mechanics as needed.

Summary: Assists in the preparation and installation of the race car set-up to track specifications received from the crew chief and race engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Assist in verifying compliance of the wheel location and offsets to NASCAR gauges.

• Assist in the finalization and verification of the race set-up of the vehicle.

• Assist in inputting set-up information into the database.

• Begin to learn to utilize Romer Arm to confirm set-up specifications and measurements.

• Reference set-up sheet from crew chief or race engineer to confirm weekly build specifications.

• Receive direction and guidance from more experienced set-up mechanics to assist in the set-up process.

• Assist the shop mechanics as needed.
