Nature and Scope

This position is part of the Manufacturing Team, responsible for manufacturing safe, effective, and sterile pharmaceuticals in compliance with SOPs, policies, and cGMPs. The team maintains aseptic and sanitary conditions, ensures accurate record-keeping, and displays professional behavior. The role involves participating in all aspects of the Filling Process, including component dispensing, equipment cleaning, assembly, sterilization, and aseptic filling, ensuring compliance with production records.

The Set-Up Technician is a senior team member who provides guidance, training, and mentorship to Filling Operators. They are qualified to perform setup, troubleshoot equipment, make minor repairs, and oversee change parts management. The technician collaborates with Maintenance and Engineering, manages change parts within the spare parts system, and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Become qualified in setup, including aseptic connections and fill volume adjustments.
• Assist with equipment assembly and cleaning.
• Maintain inventories of equipment and change parts.
• Ensure use of approved materials and proper documentation.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine interventions on equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and areas.
• Support filling operations, including line setup and breakdown.
• Manage inventory and storage of change parts and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMP, and GDP standards.
• Identify potential issues and propose solutions.
• Attend training programs and perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years as a Filling Operator or 4+ years in a related field; maintenance experience is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform basic math.
• Must qualify for aseptic gowning and maintain qualification.

Physical Environment and Requirements

• Ability to wear PPE, including gowning, masks, gloves, and goggles.
• Maintain a clean-shaven appearance for respirator fit testing.
• Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Work in restricted access barrier systems and cleanroom environments.
