Job Purpose Statement
The primary function of this position is for the employee to set up and operate manufacturing equipment to produce products to the required specification at the expected rate of throughput. In addition, the employee will prepare equipment and materials for production, maintain material inventory, and operate general equipment to move products, supplies, and inventory to support production. Mechanical aptitude is required to accurately prepare equipment for production of product.
Summary of Responsibility
- Read and understand equipment specifications to properly set up equipment for production use
- Ensure all safety and quality standard are met
- Measure and evaluate tooling to ensure proper fitment
- Install equipment using all required tools
- Operate the equipment to verify the installation meets specifications
- Interface with computer software, equipment HMI / PLC
- Operate powered industrial vehicles
- Perform basic maintenance practices on tooling and equipment, assist maintenance as needed
- Properly organize materials to ensure efficient operations
- Other related duties as assigned by Supervision
QualificationsEducation, Experience and Skills Required
- High School diploma or GED required
- Prefer 2 years in a manufacturing/distribution operation
- Ability to work with cross functional teams to address issues related to production or quality
- Critical thinking skills to evaluate complex and changing situations leading to the recommendation and implementation of a course of action
- Able to train quickly through on the job experience with a hands-on approach
- Verbal and written communication skills to report performance to management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting production and quality goals
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid forklift or equipment license as needed or required
- Must read, write and communicate in English

- Must be able to meet the Ergonomic as well as the Physical Base Score for this position.
