Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook in healthcare or long-term care is preferred.
• Strong teamwork and attention to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus, therapeutic diets, and physician-ordered dietary restrictions.
• Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served in a timely manner while maintaining quality and presentation.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local dietary and food safety regulations.
• Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate food safety records as required.
• Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and healthcare team to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Provide courteous, friendly, and professional service to residents, visitors, and fellow team members.
• Assist with other dietary department duties as assigned.
