Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets, following planned menus and strict safety standards for residents in our senior care communities.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean work areas, handling, labeling, and storing food properly, and ensuring timely service and appropriate temperatures. ServSafe certification is a big plus and opportunities to contribute to events throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu
• Follow proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations
• Ensures that the proper quantity of food is prepared
• Prepare food for special events as instructed by the supervisor
• Keep work area clean and uncluttered during preparation and service of food
• Use proper technique to taste prepared food to ensure quality taste and palatability prior to service
• Maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service
• Record temperatures of food according to established policy
• Ensures that the food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner
• Ensures that meals are sent from the kitchen or serving area according to established time schedules
• Properly label, date and store food according to established policies
• Ensures that refrigerator/freezer temperatures are within the appropriate range
• Washes pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. according to established procedures for manual and/or automatic dishwashing
• Make recommendations regarding improvements in recipes, menus, production and service of food, equipment, etc.
