Job summary

Peraton seeks a Servo Subsystem Engineer to support the Deep Space Network in Fort Irwin, CA, ensuring the servo, surveillance, and weather monitoring subsystems operate reliably. You will lead tests, maintenance, and engineering changes with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires UNIX and VxWorks proficiency, experience with mechanical drives and telemetry systems, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD.
• Experience with Mechanical Drives, Programmable Ladder Logic, Data telemetry receiving systems.
• Working knowledge of UNIX operating system
• Working knowledge of VxWorks
• Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance and pass a NCIC check; US citizenship required
• Must possess and retain a valid California Driver's License (Real ID).

Responsibilities

• Interface with internal and external customers
• Analyze problems and direct repair
• Document corrective action and analysis of problems using the DRMS and MAXIMO databases
• Assist operations as required
• Direct implementation of Engineering Changes. Provide corrections and feedback to the appropriate Operation Engineer
• Provide input for Engineering Changes
• Must be able to identify potential hazards and adhere to all safety equipment procedures
• Must be able to follow applicable regulatory agency and site-specific guidelines and properly document all job-related activities
• Provide technical guidance, training, and direct oversight to hourly personnel, and perform all assigned duties consistent with this classification
