Job Description
Position Summary
The Services Manager – Outdoor Power Equipment, Plumbing & Handyman, and Rental Services is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of these business units across all current and future store locations. This includes overseeing OPE services, Rental Program, and Plumbing & Handyman. The manager drives operational excellence, team development, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Major Responsibilities:
Operations & Business Management
- Oversee daily operations across Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE), Plumbing, Handyman, and Rental departments, including scheduling, inventory management, ordering materials, and quality control.
- Responsible for meeting operating profit targets for each service category.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable/payable, payroll, staffing, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure vehicle, equipment, and tool compliance with safety and company standards.
- Maintain accurate job costing, track labor and material use, and provide feedback to sales and service teams.
- Support the growth of each service area by identifying opportunities and expanding service offerings.
- Utilize the internal assets of people and/or equipment to support company repair and maintenance initiatives.

Customer Service
- Ensure top-tier customer satisfaction across all service lines.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints efficiently, including service callbacks or warranty issues.
- Collaborate with store team members to uphold all satisfaction and quality metrics.
Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and mentor technicians and support staff in all service categories.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings and ongoing safety and technical training.
- Provide guidance and support on job sites for troubleshooting, training, and quality checks.
- Promote a culture of safety, performance, and accountability.
Compliance & Safety
- Keep all licenses, certifications, and permits up to date.
- Report any vehicle or job site incidents to HR immediately.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and conduct regular safety training and audits.
- Coordinate with HR to manage legal and regulatory matters.
Scheduling & Logistics
- Manage service schedules for all technicians across OPE, plumbing, and handyman services.
- Oversee rental inventory movement and delivery schedules to job sites or customers.
- Ensure timely delivery and readiness of equipment and materials for installs and jobs.
- Monitor and maintain technician vehicles for compliance and readiness.
Other Duties
- Negotiate vendor contracts for materials, equipment, and service partnerships.
- Support store teams in achieving company-wide goals.
- Drive customer loyalty through exceptional service and follow-up.
- Protect company assets and enforce all safety and operational procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership.
Job Requirements:
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a diverse team of technicians and support staff.
- Experience in Outdoor Power Equipment, Plumbing & Handyman services, and Rentals is preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as Epicor/Eagle and service platforms like Service Fusion.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- High level of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel to all store locations and job sites.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet customer and business demands.
