Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking an Ultrasound Serviceability Engineer to lead service projects, evaluate serviceability, and support product development. You will work hands-on with Ultrasound systems, define service requirements, and collaborate with engineering and customer service teams to mitigate risks and improve product reliability.

Ideal candidates have a biomedical engineering background with 2–5 years in medical devices or related customer-service roles, strong PC skills, and travel up

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience in medical devices and customer service.
  • Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in medical devices and/or customer services relevant roles.
  • Ultrasound System service and repair experience is preferred.
  • Excellent PC and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with AI, Cloud based computing, and PowerShell a plus.
  • Willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Manage service projects for Ultrasound products.
  • Develop Product Service Concept and Plans.
  • Work hands-on with Ultrasound systems and hardware; evaluate serviceability, troubleshoot issues, and support product development.
  • Provide input to Engineering on new products to improve serviceability and diagnostic functions.
  • Define serviceability and value-added service requirements; support their implementation within the Project team.
  • Evaluate the product service lifecycle, test and validate service requirements and functions; create technical documentation; provide technical training when required.
  • Become the Service expert for your products and lead service engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and cross-functional teams including Product, Sustaining Engineering, Supply Chain, and business partners.
  • Identify and assess risks; develop strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Analyze complex problems and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Lead service projects and provide guidance within a team.

As an Ultrasound Serviceability Engineer
  • You will be responsible for the Service Engineering of Ultrasound products.
  • This includes managing service projects and developing Product Service Concept and Plans.
  • Work hands-on with Ultrasound systems and hardware evaluating serviceability, troubleshooting issues, validating service requirements, and supporting product development activities.
  • Provide input to Engineering on new products early in the new product introduction cycle to improve serviceability and diagnostic functions.
  • Define serviceability and value-added service requirements and support their implementation within the Project team.
  • Evaluate the product service lifecycle, test and validate service requirements and functions, create technical documentation, and provide technical training when required.
  • Expected to become the Service expert for your products and perform Service Engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with the entire Customer Service team and cross-functional members which include Product and Sustaining Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Project and Product management, and business partners.
  • Identify and assess risks and develop suitable strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Analyse complex problems and troubleshoot effectively.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including Engineering.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Lead service projects and provide guidance within a team.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience in medical devices and customer service
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in medical devices and/or customer services relevant roles
  • Ultrasound System service and repair experience is preferred
  • Excellent PC and Microsoft Office skills

Salary and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is: $102,600 - $141,075. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
