Job summary

American Implement in Scott City, KS is seeking skilled Ag Diesel Service Technicians to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair agricultural equipment. This full-time role requires dedication, problem-solving and a professional, courteous demeanor.

The compensation includes a base hourly wage of $20–$40+ with overtime and commission, 45+ hours per week, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, disability, dental, vision and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• Three to five years’ experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment.
• John Deere Tech graduate or certificate from mechanical/industrial training or equivalent experience preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to operate vehicles/equipment for diagnostics.
• Computer skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Set of tools for repairs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment.
• Diagnose and plan effective repairs to keep producers running.
• Prepare reports and forms for work assignments.
• Follow production schedules and requirements for task completion.
• Participate in service training for skill development.
• Maintain vehicles and tools in good condition and keep area neat and safe.
• Provide professional, courteous service and present a positive company image.
• Perform other service tasks as directed by the Service Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Analyze, troubleshoot and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment.
• Perform diagnosis and plan effective and efficient repairs of machinery.
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Follow production schedules and requirements for completion of assignments.
• Participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Maintain vehicles, tools and equipment in good condition and working order.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations. Follow safety precautions while operating vehicles, machinery and equipment.
• Provide professional and courteous service and present a positive and professional image of the company.
• Perform other service tasks as directed by the Service Manager or Service Department Foreman.

QUALIFICATONS

• Three to five years’ experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment.
• John Deere Tech graduate, John Deere Technician experience or Certificate of completion from a mechanical or industrial arts training, vocational school, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in the use of diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Computer skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Set of tools to perform equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, regularly lifting 75 lbs without assistance, grasping with both hands, pushing and pulling, working around moving machinery, driving a vehicle, extensive hours on a computer, hearing normal tones, and seeing. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions from extreme heat to winter blizzard conditions.
