Job summary

Hoffman Energy in Danbury, CT is seeking a Home Service Technician Trainee to perform service calls and provide expert troubleshooting for HVAC systems in customer homes.

You will be the primary contact for customers, maintaining a professional image while advocating for the company and brand. Prior residential HVAC experience and a valid driver's license are preferred, with opportunities to grow and obtain additional licenses.

Qualifications

• Prior experience servicing residential Air Conditioning and Heating equipment is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company motor vehicle policy.
• Willingness to expand technical and repair knowledge and obtain new licenses.

Responsibilities

• Make service calls to customer homes and provide expert troubleshooting and repair for HVAC equipment.
• Assess customers' equipment and service needs and identify revenue opportunities.
• Troubleshoot and repair residential AC and heating equipment.
• Prepare accurate daily paperwork and communicate with Dispatch and Service departments.
• Maintain professional image and advocate for the company and brand.
• Ensure safety with PPE and proper use of tools and parts inventory.
• Serve as main contact between company and customers.

Job description

As a Home Service Technician Trainee, you will make service calls to customer homes and provide them with expert troubleshooting and repair service to a variety of equipment, particularly their heating systems. As you will be the main point of contact between the company and our customers, you will also maintain a professional and friendly image and serve as an advocate for the company and our brand.

The pay rate for an experienced HVAC Technician Trainee is up to $29 per hour.

Your specific duties in this role will include:

• Assessing customers' equipment and service needs
• Troubleshooting and repairing residential AC equipment, heating, and other equipment
• Identifying revenue-generating opportunities, making recommendations to customers, and closing any sales that can be immediately performed
• Performing efficiency tests on all combustion related installations
• Preparing accurate daily paperwork
• Communicating with Dispatcher and Service departments
• Utilizing all applicable safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintaining a clean and neat service van and properly accounting for assigned tools and parts inventory

You must also be highly detail-oriented and focused with a flexible and adaptable nature. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as a commitment to providing the best and most responsive customer service.
