Job summary

Heritage Tractor Inc. in Kentucky seeks a Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair self-propelled sprayers and spreaders for customers and dealers.

You will work with John Deere equipment, follow technical manuals, and maintain safety, tools, and accurate records. This position requires the ability to work outside normal hours and travel for overnight stays if needed. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving and career development.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience performing service repairs.
• Able to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on self-propelled sprayers and spreaders and established technology products
• Ability and willingness to work outside of normal business hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Maintains proper condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties
• Other duties as assigned

Description

Purpose:

Performs diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned self-propelled sprayers and spreaders.

Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on self-propelled sprayers and spreaders and established technology products
• Ability and willingness to work outside of normal business hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Maintains proper condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

• 1+ years of experience performing service repairs
• Available for overnight stays if needed
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
• High School diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
• Valid drivers license is required
• Works in environment inside and outside all temperatures
• Physical requirements other than lifting include bending, squatting, hand dexterity, climbing 6-13 feet
