Bob Brown Pre-Owned in Des Moines, IA is seeking experienced automotive technicians to join our reconditioning team. Qualified applicants must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and the ability to diagnose and repair all makes and models of cars and light trucks; ASE certifications and GM experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certification required.
• 2+ years of service technician experience.
• B level qualifications: diagnostic, electrical and engine repair.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test drive and inspect all makes and models of used vehicles.
• Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair engine, electrical, brakes, A/C and more.
• Coordinate with Service Advisor and Parts Department on repairs.
• Verify repairs were completed correctly.

Salary: $27+ per flag hour plus progressive bonus programdepending on certification and experience

Responsibilities

• Test drive and inspect ALL makes and models of used vehicles.
• Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor and Parts Department regarding needed diagnosis, parts, and repairs.
• Verify all repairs were completed correctly.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience Required
• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
