Job summary

STANCIL PLUMBING INC. seeks a Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing issues on warranty-based work orders. You will install pipes, drainage systems, sinks, toilets and fixtures, test for leaks, and ensure adherence to safety codes and company policy.

Strong communication with clients and coordination with warranty representatives are key, as is maintaining professionalism at customers’ homes and collaborating with electricians and other trades as needed.

Qualifications

General Statement of Job:A service technician is a warranty-based position that is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing issues. This position will diagnose common and diverse plumbing emergencies efficiently, accurately and perform plumbing services. Ensure that our customers are satisfied and that all work is completed in accordance with company policy and governmental regulations.Essential Job Functions:Handling a variety of plumbing emergencies efficiently and professionally.Installing pipes, drainage systems, sinks, toilets, and knowledge of trim fixtures.Testing systems for leaks and other problems.Obeying health and safety codes at all times.Performing inspections and providing advice to warranty representative and service coordinator.Selecting the most cost-effective, quality products for installation and repair.Working alongside electricians, construction workers, and other professionals.Communicating effectively with clients, especially when a job is taking longer than expected.Being polite and respectful of clients and their homes at all times.Performs other duties as assigned.Education, Experience, and Training:High school graduation or other equivalent (i.e., GED, college, technical or trade school transcript, foreign equivalency, etc.).Have basic knowledge of tools and plumbing materials, including knowledge of fitting sizes and types of piping.Must be able to pass a physical examination and obtain a medical cardSound knowledge of water and ventilation systems.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Strength and dexterity.A polite manner and excellent customer service skills.Motivated and work well with others.OSHA10 preferred.Willingness to embrace change in a growing company.Valid US driver’s license and a clear MVR (motor vehicle report) in order to be approved through the Company’s insurance provider for driving statusMust be able to pass a physical examination and obtain a medical cardStandards of Performance:Demonstrate informative and professional assistance when working with customers, vendors and team members.Act independently and originate new approaches to problems.Maintain initiative to preserve the flow of work.Work under stress with commitment to deadlines.Sustain interpersonal relationships, which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally.Complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.Maintain Company information in a confidential manner.Attends work regularly and on time with a minimum of tardiness and absences and adheres to Company policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness.
