Job summary

Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental, Inc. in Kaukauna, WI is seeking an Aerial Lift Service Technician & Mechanic to maintain and repair aerial lifts and scissor lifts. Training may be provided; union membership with IUOE Local 139 is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Strong diesel engine, hydraulic and electrical knowledge is required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfort around moving machinery and changes in temperature or humidity.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service, and repair aerial boom and scissor lifts.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify components as needed.
• Read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and drawings.
• Coordinate with service writers, supervisor, parts, and customers.
• Document actions taken thoroughly.
• Operate diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Service Technician & Mechanic - Aerial Lifts

Position Summary

Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental located in Kaukauna, WI is seeking an Aerial Lift Service Technician & Mechanic. Hands-on experience with aerial lifts and scissor lifts is a big plus but training may be provided to the right individual. This is a full-time, non-exempt, Union position. The successful candidate will be required to join IUOE Local 139, assistance with joining will be provided.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all makes of aerial boom and scissor lifts
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify components as needed
• Reads, understands and interprets operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
• Positive interface with service writers, supervisor, parts department and customers
• Prepare proper documentation of actions taken
• Able to work with diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting and repairs
• Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other regulations
• Other duties assigned

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Must have a strong diesel engine, hydraulic and electrical background
• Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Ability to work safely around moving machinery; to work in conditions with marked changes in temperature & humidity
• Ability to safely operate complex construction equipment
• Able to lift 50 lbs

Manufacturer’s training will be an integral part of this position. Applicant must be willing to learn new computer, electronic and hydraulic systems, follow safety guidelines as they evolve in our industry, and remain certified within the various portions of our field such as assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting.
