Job summary

KAAST Machine Tools in Schiller Park, IL, seeks a hands-on Service Technician to join our Chicago warehouse and showroom team. This full-time, in-house role covers installation, testing, customer support, and occasional travel for installations and tradeshows.

Based in Schiller Park, IL 60176, you will work closely with service staff and customers, handling troubleshooting, documentation, and shipping preparation while representing a fast-growing tool manufacturer with a broad product line.

Qualifications

• Experience with Capital Equipment / Machine Tools (lathes, mills, grinders, saws, etc.).
• Industrial electrical (3‑phase) knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
• Mechanical aptitude and previous equipment repair/installation experience.
• Strong problem‑solving and customer service skills.
• Clear, professional communication (phone, email, in person).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Uncrate, power-up, and fully test new machine tools; prepare inspection reports.
• Install, assemble, and repair chip-making and fabrication machinery.
• Perform customer demonstrations and provide technical support.
• Assist customers via phone and email with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Prepare machines for shipping to end-users.
• Complete accurate service documentation, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
• Support major industry tradeshows with demos and machine setup (occasional travel, less than 30%).

KAAST Machine Tools is a fast-growing machine tool and fabrication equipment manufacturer with one of the most extensive line‑ups of new machinery in North America. Headquartered in the greater Philadelphia area, we are proud to support manufacturers nationwide with high-quality CNC and conventional chip‑making equipment as well as a full range of fabricating equipment.

Our Chicago office, located in Schiller Park just 10 minutes from O'Hare International Airport, serves as a key hub for our service and showroom operations. We are seeking a hands‑on Service Technician to join our Schiller Park, IL team. This is a full-time, in‑house position based in our Chicago warehouse and showroom, with the exception of field travel for customer installations/service and major industry tradeshows. Travel typically accounts for less than 30% of the role.

Responsibilities
