Sonic Automotive

The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, or diagnostic issues.
2. Carry out repairs based on diagnosed issues, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, and HVAC systems.
3. Take vehicles on test drives to evaluate repairs, check for issues, or ensure proper functioning post-repair.
4. Replace or repair key components such as spark plugs, filters, brake pads, rotors, belts, and hoses.
5. Conduct routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and alignment adjustments.
6. Inspect vehicles for safety concerns or additional services needed, ensuring all systems are operational for customer safety.
7. Coordinate with service advisors regarding additional work or repair timeframes.
8. Communicate with parts department to procure necessary parts and manage warranty or customer-requested parts.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician, specializing in bumper-to-bumper repairs.
• Previous dealership experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Authorized to work in the USA and able to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug tests, and license verification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Chevrolet repairs.
• GM certifications.
• ASE certifications.

Additional Information:

Schedule:

• Full-time, 5 days a week with 2 days off.
• Sundays off.
