JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Service Technician III

Location : Dallas, TX, USA

Position Overview :

Proactive communication and high service levels are essential. This role involves service, installation, and delivery/pick-up of rental equipment, working with customers, supporting on-site equipment, collaborating with service technicians, and providing occasional support to other locations. The technician should have knowledge of PM and basic troubleshooting of Air-Cooled Chillers and large rental HVAC equipment (>20 tons). This is a senior technician role skilled in troubleshooting, repair, and setup of rental equipment.

The Service Technician III collaborates with peers, sales, and branch staff to coordinate delivery, installation, and service. Certification to handle refrigerants is required for servicing refrigerant circuits in our AC rental products.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provide professional customer service to foster repeat business, which is key to company growth.
• Take customer orders, coordinate delivery, and note any accessories left at the site.
• Install equipment as needed, but do not connect power to customer power panels or generators. Can connect to 115 V outlets and run extension cords.
• For heating equipment, run temporary hoses for natural gas or propane, but do not perform hookups.
• Support installation of air-cooled chillers and large HVAC rental units.
• Set up flexible ductwork for temporary applications.
• Use PPE and fall protection equipment as required.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed, including proper use of fall protection and PPE during equipment start-up and service repairs.
• Pick up equipment after rental, noting missing items and obtaining customer signatures.
• Perform equipment reconditioning following work instructions and complete checklists.
• Store equipment in the warehouse appropriately.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Education / Skill Requirements :

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• 2-year HVAC certificate with Universal Refrigeration Certificate.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with MRP or Rental software preferred.
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug test, MVR check, and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs safely.
