Portables Fire Equipment, Restaurant/Suppression Service Technician:
MARTIN MACK FIRE & SAFETY EQUIPMENT is looking to hire experienced (willing to train) Portable fire equipment & Restaurant/Suppression service technicians.
Service Technicians will be friendly and engaging with customers, inspect, install, and quote portable fire equipment, inspect fire extinguishers and emergency lights.
We are seeking a Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician. This position requires the ability to service, inspect, and repair kitchen suppression systems for established commercial customers on a scheduled basis.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and implement the concepts and principles of NFPA 10, 12, 12A, 17, 17A and 96.
- Perform semi-annual inspections on Restaurant/Suppression, Portable fire equipment.
- Perform installation of restaurant portable fire equipment systems as required.
- Complete inspection worksheets and any other appropriate paperwork for customers.
- Verify that proper fire extinguishers and fire extinguisher placement is in place.
- Identify any systems NOT compliant with the latest NFPA standards.
- Maintain good relationships with existing and new customers, creating a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Timely response to fire calls.
- Responsible to operate any vehicle they drive in a safe manner and drive defensively.
- At all times, the vehicle they drive must be in compliance with DOT regulations, weight, placarding, etc.
- Any exceptions are to be reported to the shop foreman, scheduler/router or division manager immediately.
- Advise customers of any necessary fire code regulations and/or changes required at their place of business.
- Responsible for collecting COD as indicated, for any customers that they are servicing.
- Responsible to complete any duties that the route supervisor would assign.
- On a timely basis, in a neat manner, with the required information established by the office staff, complete required paperwork.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- If Restaurant systems workload is slow on inspections, restaurant technician will report to the Division Manager and will be scheduled to perform Portables Fire equipment calls as directed.
- Fill/hydro system bottles and scrap unusable restaurant system bottles at an hourly rate, to be determined.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Valid driver’s license
- HS diploma/GED
- Ability to be available full time and possibly long hours
- Applicant must currently live in service area and be available for immediate hire
- Must be able to pass background checking and have a clean driving record
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Hand and power tool usage experience a plus
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
