This is a part-time, seasonal role.

JOB SUMMARY

A Service Technician is the front line and point person for our brand to the rider, encouraging successful and profitable retail by applying technical expertise to create outstanding in-store brand experiences. The Technician works directly with riders, both present and remote, to identify and locate the goods, services, and experiences needed to provide solutions quickly and smoothly, helping them ride longer and better. They collaborate with staff and local riders as a host, mentor, brand advocate, and technical expert. The Technician provides exceptional rider service, enhances satisfaction, and helps meet sales and profitability goals.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Connecting with riders, asking questions, listening to their needs, and offering options and advice based on a pre-set service menu or tune-ups and a la carte services.
  • Speaking authoritatively on technical matters related to bicycles; being the expert.
  • Providing enthusiastic and courteous customer assistance; delivering “wow” customer service.
  • Properly processing all service work, setting and exceeding rider expectations, filling out service work orders accurately, and scheduling repairs.
  • Advising and assisting customers with product and service choices without bias.
  • Maintaining knowledge of all merchandise to assist customers effectively; staying current with new product lines.
  • Assisting with bike sales through technical consulting and other bike floor duties as needed.
  • Delivering top-tier rider service to ensure ongoing satisfaction and service quality.
  • Maintaining cleanliness standards at store opening, throughout the day, and at close, including light janitorial duties.
  • Proficiency in Lightspeed POS systems and store websites.
  • Maintaining regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

  • Passion for cycling and the Specialized brand.
  • Bike shop/bike mechanic experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with riders and team members.
  • Availability to work weekends as needed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, and occasionally walk, kneel, or reach.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
