Job summary

United Rentals in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Service Technician Intern to learn the equipment we rent and how it’s used. You will assist in maintenance tasks and provide labor support to seasoned mechanics while developing hands-on skills.

This entry-level role is ideal for students in technical programs pursuing certification. You will gain exposure to automotive and diesel equipment and have potential to move into a service technician role after completing your degree or certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pursuing technical degree or certification.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with foundational knowledge of tools and equipment.
• Self-motivated with a strong drive and sense of urgency.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn the various types of equipment United Rentals rents and their applications.
• Perform maintenance tasks to support the branch operation.
• Provide labor assistance to seasoned mechanics.
• Possibility to transition to service technician roles after degree/certification.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to customers.
