Job summary

Motion Industries in Portland, ME is seeking a Service Technician II to repair, service, and build standard and custom hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. You will work under general supervision and may guide less experienced technicians.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, fabricate parts, assemble and test equipment, and interact with customers to explain work and provide quotes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of shop experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance on assigned customer products in the service shop.
• Disassembles, cleans, and inspects system components for repair.
• Diagnoses system components and recommends solutions to customers.
• Prepares job forms listing parts and tasks needed to perform repairs.
• Designs, fabricates, machines, and welds parts and components.
• Repairs hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Assembles new and repaired equipment.
• Tests repaired equipment and prepares for shipment or storage.
• Answers technical questions to help customers understand the work.
• Provides quotes and handles order entry; may handle more complex inquiries.
• Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business and improve processes.
• Mentors less experienced Service Technicians.
