Position Title: Service Technician II
Reports To: Field Supervisor or General Manager

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and service work on residential and/or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolve problems, and ensure complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform residential and/or light commercial service and maintenance calls.
- Analyze, diagnose, and resolve customer problems courteously, professionally, timely, and accurately.
- Diagnose and perform services on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories.
- Inspect equipment and perform diagnostics to identify potential problems.
- Complete routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as required.
- Deliver and remove parts and equipment needed to complete service work.
- Record all required information on hand-held device.
- Complete all necessary forms and paperwork neatly, timely, and accurately.
- Collect payment from customer.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding status and availability.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high satisfaction.
- Promote products and services to the customer.
- Report replacement product sales leads to Sales and Service Coordinator.
- Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are properly maintained and accounted for.
- Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically.
- Follow standard procedures, stock vehicle, return defective parts, replenish stock as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance.

- Report unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to supervisor immediately.
- Report contravention of legislation, policy, procedure, or program.
- Correct substandard acts or conditions within area of control.
- Use and maintain appropriate PPE.
- Never remove or render ineffective safety guards or devices.
- Comply with general rules prescribed by company programs.
- Operate devices or equipment as prescribed.
- Participate in safety initiatives and teams.
- Report injuries or incidents as prescribed.
- Provide input on developing safety initiatives and plans.
- Not perform acts endangering safety or well-being of others.
- Do not engage in pranks or rough boisterous behavior.
- Work in compliance with applicable legislative requirements.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with additional training and 1‑2+ years of HVAC experience; technical training certification required.
- Valid licensing or certification as required by applicable laws.
- EPA and safety certifications required.
- Skilled at servicing HVAC equipment and accessories.
- Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools.
- Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems.
- Proficient at startup, balancing airflow, aligning belts and pulleys.
- Proficient at installing basic duct fittings.
- Effective communication and customer resolution skills.
- Effective time-management and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
- Available for flexible hours and on-call shifts.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, access attics, basements, crawl spaces; lift up to 75 pounds, carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
Minimum Experience
2‑4 years of experience.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma/GED.
