Job summary

Seneca Resorts & Casinos is seeking a Service Technician II for the second shift to repair and maintain casino/hotel buildings and grounds. You will inspect areas, perform maintenance, and ensure safety devices function properly.

The role requires independence and multi-trade skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, cleaning of grounds, and coordinating with teams to keep facilities presentable.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or its equivalency required.
• Four (4) years’ experience in the technical fields of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and heating/air conditioning.
• Qualified to make repairs in a building environment.
• Ability to initiate and complete work orders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist in maintaining and cleaning of the building grounds such as sweeping lots, removing snow, mowing grass and watering the shrubbery and grass.
• Repair and maintain physical structures of the casino.
• Replace defective electrical switches and other lighting equipment as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and repairs.
• Repair or replace locks as needed and repairs or replaces mechanical equipment in building as needed.
• Repair and replace plumbing fixtures as necessary.
• Determine problems with heating and air conditioning system and initiate appropriate action.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks at the casino daily.
• Coordinate and assist in keeping public areas in and around the facilities free of litter and debris (parking lot and outside main entrance).
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facilities equipment.
• Responsible for the safety and security of personnel within the facilities for ensuring safety devices are in good proper working order.

The Service Technician II shall be responsible for repair and maintenance of the casino/hotel buildings and grounds. Conduct regular inspections to determine areas that need attention and then perform the tasks. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

13. 13. Performs duties in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and Appliance repair as directed.
14. 14. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
15. 15. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
16. 16. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
17. 17. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
18. 18. Attend all necessary meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

1. 1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2. 2. High school diploma or its equivalency required.
3. 3. Four (4) years’ experience in the technical fields of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and heating/air conditioning.
4. 4. Qualified to make repairs in a building environment.
5. 5. Ability to initiate and complete work orders.
6. 6. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.

Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:

1. 1. Must possess excellent communication skills.
2. 2. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
3. 3. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.

Salary Starting Rate:

$22.00

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.

Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
