Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a Service Technician II in Massachusetts to repair, service, and build hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. You may guide less experienced technicians and contribute to team goals.

You will disassemble, inspect, diagnose, repair, fabricate, weld, and test equipment, then prepare it for shipment or storage while assisting customers with questions, quotes, and orders; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of shop experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to read hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to operate shop equipment safely.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, service, and build hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Disassemble, clean, and inspect components for repair.
  • Diagnose components and propose solutions to customers.
  • Design, fabricate, machine, and weld parts and components.
  • Repair and test equipment; prepare for shipment or storage.
  • Assist customers by answering technical questions, providing quotes, and handling orders.
  • Build customer relationships and support process improvements.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed.

SUMMARYUnder general supervision, the Service Technician II repairs, services, and builds standard and custom systems for hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. The Service Technician II may provide guidance to less experienced Service Technicians.JOB DUTIESPerforms maintenance on assigned customer products that come through the service shop.Disassembles, cleans, and inspects system components for repair.Diagnoses system components and recommends a solution to the customer.Prepares job form listing parts and works necessary to perform the repair.Designs, fabricates, machines, and welds parts and components.Repairs hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. and other related items.Assembles new and repaired equipment.Tests repaired equipment for performance and prepares for shipment or long-term storage.Assist customers by answering specific technical questions to help the customer understand the work to be done.Responds to customer inquires regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry. Due to experience & training, may handle more challenging inquires.Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business by relating to the customer and drive process improvements.Assists less experienced Service Technicians with addressing customer needs.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCETypically requires a high school diploma or GEDThree (3) to five (5) years of shop experience or an equivalent combination.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESAbility to read hydraulic schematics.Strong communication skills required.Basic mechanical knowledge.Ability to operate shop equipment safely.Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.PHYSICAL DEMANDSPush/pull up to 100 poundsLift/carry up to 100 poundsLift bulky objectsNeck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, reach and lift, ladder climb and carry, crawling.Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.Ability to work overtime and weekends.COMPENSATION$27.06 - $35.22 (hourly)Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
